Since this was a more serious situation, Degrassi left it for the season finale, giving viewers a taste for what was to come in Season 2. Many teens might struggle with how to healthily end romantic relationships, and Ashley eventually blows the entire situation up in the season's final episode "Jagged Little Pill" when she tries to take ecstasy to relax and ends up embarrassing Jimmy in front of everyone. Jimmy is considered a nice kid which makes Ashley feel guilty. She goes back and forth with him a lot, not expressing her true feelings out of fear of what her peers would think.
